Current  Museum  Show

The  MUSEUM  of  HOLOGRAPHY / Chicago ,  the world's oldest museum dedicated to this high - tech  three dimensional art  form ,  Presents  " TRANSITIONAL STATES " , an exhibition of holograms demonstrating the unique movement capabilities in this art form.

Visitors to the Museum can watch Chicago Bull's legend Michael Jordan perform his ball handling magic ;  see baseball's Will Clark demonstrate his batting form ; be amazed as Dr. Jekyl transforms into Mr. Hyde.

Another group of  large format holograms by artist / holographer John Perry features a 3 foot, creepy crawling tarantula and an almost life-size female dressed in a suit , that seemingly by x-ray vision is stripped down to her skeleton; a life size Tyranasaurus Rex skull ; and what seems to be the hit of the show , a gold miner panning for gold along a river bank .

Also featured in the show are works by Ron and Bernadette Olsen that incorporate pulsed holographic images of live subjects with large format photography with subjects that include a Playboy Playmate of the Month.

An entire room is dedicated to artist/holographer Art Freund whose untimely death from the AIDS virus cut short his promising career. Included are some of his personal notebook pages that show how his thought patterns in the conceptual stage of holography were brought into fruition.

An entire room is dedicated to medical holography . Tomography ( CAT scan ) is no longer restricted to 2D pictures.  Fully 3D images of the inside of the human body are possible . The inside of the brain and heart as well as many other body parts can be seen holographically.
